We might look like another hipster photography couple - I might wear a fedora when Alexis isn't looking - but we assure you that we are much more than that. We escaped our midwest hometowns in search of better scenery and more like-minded people, but we didn't trade hard work for the beach. Our backgrounds are in business, retail, styling, fitness and media and we'll get your photos back to you before the honeymoon phase is over.

What we care about most is capturing the moments that you hold closest to your heart.

Just show up with what you love and let us take care of the rest.

KIRK - Founder + Producer

Kirk was raised in metro Detroit on a steady diet of meat, potatoes and team sports. As a competitive athlete, he relied on his power and dominant attitude to excel. Years later, when he took up martial arts, he was tossed around a sweaty dojo for months by various women and children. This led to an exploration of ancient Eastern philosophies, which, in turn, led Kirk to Taiwan, where he taught English, studied martial arts and ate a lot of delicious and strange street food.

Today he owns Hale Productions with his wife in South Park, San Diego. He has traveled the world taking photos and making videos for hundreds of clients in different fields. Some of the most notable are lululemon, Chosen Foods, and Shutterfly. In his spare time he is training to be a legit horse whisperer in Ramona.

ALEXIS - Creative Stylist + Photographer

Alexis is definitely the fun one. Her lightness and ability to connect with clients on a human level has brought a nice, gentle touch to Hale and is a good contrast to her husband's compulsive obsession with lists, schedules, and deliverables. We call her the set mom as she is always packing bags full of snacks and making sure everyone has enough water to drink.

Alexis handles a lot of the creativity and styling. She has been working in retail since she was a teenager, when she started her own clothing brand in Buffalo, NY. When she's not creating the look and feel of Hale's shoots, she is taking guitar lessons (in an attempt to be the next Carole King), lying on the floor taking pictures of her dog son Woody and building her vintage clothing business on Instagram (@samesamevintage).

GENEVIEVE - Assistant Producer

Gen wears tall shoes to the office so she can see things. We keep an emergency cold brew in the fridge for when she starts playing Dashboard Confessional on Spotify. She can be quiet sometimes but it's usually only when she's upset that we didn't put the equipment away correctly and she doesn't have the heart to tell us.

Gen is slowly and quietly taking over the video department. It won't be long before we're all working for her. Which we know is her plan. And we're okay with it because even though she is small she's kind of scary. She has the mysterious nickname of video ninja which is one part flattering and another part borderline racist.

When she isn't making our videos look like mega brand ads she plays drums in a band with her mean black cat and deaf white cat. We don't know the cats names because she didn't tell us.

RACHEL - Photographer

Rachel takes far too many photos. It's actually a problem. We try to curb her habit but it's useless, we just keep hearing the shutter click. In her defense, she gets lost in the moment and everything is so pretty to her. Clients are usually pleased with the 1800 photos they get for a 30 minute portrait session.

She loves her cats more than she's comfortable admitting and they make the perfect models. She wishes she were born in the 70s and daydreams of patterns and vintage furniture. If you can't find her she's most likely sun drunk in Palm Springs or in a cypher circle at The Whistle Stop.

She plays really well with other kids but not so much glass coffee tables. They seem to be a problem for her. She's also an actress and sometimes we have her shoot a full day with a Ukrainian accent.

DIANA - Photographer + Production Assistant

Like Kirk, Diana is from Michigan. Which means every time she does something good he says, "Pure Michigan." We've been working with her for a few months and have been blown away by her obsession with perfection. It's likely a problem in her personal life but it plays really well for us.

Diana is responsible for a lot of the shot pulling and production planning as well as our beautiful Instagram feed. When she doesn't have the shakes from an F45 bootcamp we let her take pictures too, and it turns out she is a darn good photographer.

Most notably, Diana's dad likes to send text emoticons and has brought us our most common office phrase, "It's your papa!" in the voice of a panda bear.
